Minutes of the Stream Control Commission/Water Resources Commission, 1928-1969.

Series 1 of record group 74-13 consists of typewritten signed copies of the meeting minutes of the Michigan Stream Control Commission and its successor, the Water Resources Commission for the years 1928-1969. May include lists of new or increased use statements, notices of determination, final orders of determination, legal counsel's reports, appearances by public and private officials concerning actions taken by the Commission, and staff reports. Generally the minutes reflect the activities of the Commission to abate and prevent the pollution of surface, underground, and Great Lakes waters. Includes an index to meetings (1928-42, 1961-70). Minutes do not exist for January 1948-June 1949.

The Michigan Stream Control Commission was created by the provisions on Public Act 245 of 1929. The Commission was specifically charged with the control of the pollution of lakes, rivers, streams, and all waters of the state, and the Great Lakes. Public Act 117 of 1949 created the Water Resources Commission to replace the Stream Control Commission.
